Disclaimer: I don’t own any of the characters. I just borrowed them from their rightful owners for the sake of having some fun writing and reading. This is my first attempt in writing a fan fiction. I’ve never written anything like this before and I am relatively new in this fandom. So, there is a good chance that the people involved may be a bit out of character. Thinking that it is set in an alternate universe where one of the girls was not an idol, the Iwate Incidents had never happened, and LINE had not yet been a popular way of communication may help. Regarding ratings, I’ve never written anything that can be rated more than PG-13. However, the story does portray a same-sex attraction between girls. So, if you’re not comfortable or not allowed to access such thing wherever you are, please do feel free to stop reading here. Reader discretion advised.

Chapter 15—A Sudden Come Back
Paruru could not believe her eyes. It must be a lie. It was as if the universe was playing a prank on her.
“So, I think we have some new face today,” Sata said the usual words he used as the MC for the variety show, “Yokoyama! It is your first time here, isn’t it?”
“Ah, hai!” the girl answered, “It is actually my first time in a variety show since I joined NMB.”
“Eeh? Is it really? Doesn’t NMB have a lot of variety shows in Osaka?”
“Ah, hai. But, I was just promoted as a member. So, it’s my first time in any variety show.”
Sayanee, who stood right beside her, nodded her head as an affirmation. Meanwhile, Kiyoto, the other member of Bad Boys, made his usual remarks that earned him a tsukkomi from Sata. The other members from both teams laughed at their antics.
However, Paruru was not amused. She was confused. She was upset. Why did everyone else acted like it was nothing? Had they already known about Yuihan’s joining the group in Namba? Why did no one tell her about it? Was she the only one not knowing?
“Oy, Shimazaki! The game has already started, you know!” Sata gave her a hit on the head for spacing out, “Pay more attention or you’ll get hit!”
“Ah, gomen,” she said.
The other members laughed at her. She did not mind at all because that was how it usually was in that variety show. But, the fact that she could see Yuihan on the other side of the room, giving an apologetic smile her way, bothered her.
Somehow, Paruru managed not to get hit by the ball despite the fact that she kept getting distracted the whole time. Some of the other members, including Yuihan, did get hit and had to receive horrible punishments. But, even though she tried to smile for the camera, Paruru could not bring herself to laugh like her fellow members.
When the taping ended and the members made their way to their dressing rooms, Paruru walked ahead, grabbed Yuihan’s hand, and dragged her away from the others.
“Eh? Paruru? Where are we going?” asked Yuihan, surprised by her unusual action.
Paruru did not answer. She kept pulling Yuihan by the hand, away from the others, until they arrived at a rather secluded corner at the end of the corridor. Then, she grabbed Yuihan’s T-shirt and pushed her against the wall.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” she asked quietly while looking down, not wanting to see the other girl’s face.
“Why didn’t you say anything?”
Anger was bubbling up inside her. Her hands were trembling. Her voice started to crack. She did not want to cry. She did not want to look weak. She did not want anyone to know that she actually cared that much. But tears were forming in her eyes, threatening to make their way on her cheeks.
“I was worried, you know… I was panicked… I did not know what I should say next time we meet. I did not know what kind of face should I show you next time we meet. I did not even know whether you would want to see me again. But, then, you just disappeared! I kept wondering whether it was because of me… I kept thinking that it might be because of what I had done… Even when I heard the reason of your leaving, I heard it from someone else so I was never really sure if that was true… Do you have any idea how that made me feel!?”
“Paruru..,” Yuihan did not know what to say as the girls started sobbing, burying her face in her shirt.
“…And now, you’re coming back just like that! And everyone else said nothing about it! No one even told me anything! Do you even know how I feel right now!?”
Yuihan tried to put her arm around the girl to calm her down. But, Paruru pushed away. She gathered her courage to look into Yuihan’s eyes.
“It’s not fair, Yui…”
Then, she walk away in a haste while wiping her tears away, leaving Yuihan with the reminiscence of her hurtful gaze.
